REGISTRATION AND TESTING FOR ALL NEW STUDENTS
Testing – Reading and Math test (reading test will take
roughly 35 minutes – math test will take roughly 1½ hours depending
whether a math test needs to be taken. STUDENT NEEDS TO BE
PRESENT) If your family resides in our district, this is your home school. If you do not live in our area, you will need to apply for a Geographic Exception. You will not be able to register until the Geographic Exception is approved by the Principal. Approval is based on space availability and/or reason for Geographical Exception.
Items to bring in for registration:

Negative TB reading within a year from enrollment date by
a U.S. doctor and all required immunizations (especially 2 MMR &
Varicella).

Complete physical exam taken within a year from enrollment
date by a U.S. doctor or an appointment date to see a doctor.
- Proof of Residency (statement from housing – for military personnel only, [utility bills, cable bill, letter from resident mgr. on condo letterhead – if family has just moved in, etc.] 2 different documents) or approved Geographic Exception (green copy) if parents live out of district.
- Unofficial school records (transcript(s) or report card).
- Power of Attorney – if PARENTS are NOT living on the island.
- Passport (foreign students)

The school I'm attending won't give me any records to take to my new school,
saying that the new school would need to request them. Will I still be able to
register?You may still be able to register. If at all possible, please ask the withdrawing school to provide an unofficial transcript and withdrawal grades showing courses in progress. If you have report cards for previous terms, please bring them.
Geographic Exception Information
MoHS will accept Geographic Exception (GE) applications for the coming school year from January 1 to March 1.In accordance with Section 8-13-7, priority reasons for geographic exceptions include:
-a desire to study a curriculum program offering (not available at the student's home school),
-a sibling already attending the school as an underclassmen,
-a child of a school staff member,
-and an authorized physical residence.

All other reasons are not considered priority reasons.
Additionally, a chance selection or lottery will be held in April if the number of applications exceed the number of available spaces.
It is essential that applications are turned in before the March 1 deadline for a request to be considered as part of the chance selection process.
Please be informed that:
an approved GE may be revoked if the information included in the application is found to be false. Falsification of a governmental form is a misdemeanor offense (HRS Section 710-1063).

A $1.00 fee is required for each transcript requested.
A written request along with an original signature is necessary to process any requests.
The request should provide the year of graduation or year(s) of attendance, legal name used while attending Moanalua, and the student's date of birth.
Transcripts mailed to the student are considered "unofficial" because it may be tampered with. Official transcripts are those that are sent directly from Moanalua High School to the institution/agency that needs the transcript.

Based on scheduling and
enrollment feasibility, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP English, AP Lit., AP
Lang., AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, AP US, AP European, AP Evironmental
Science, AP Physics, AP Stats, AP World History and AP Psych 1/2 will
be offered. Only 11th and 12th graders are allowed to take Advanced Placement
classes.
A GIFTED AND TALENTED
PROGRAM is offered to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors and seniors in English.
Students earn letter

Satisfactory (S) and Unsatisfactory (U) grades ARE NOT INCLUDED in GPA
